The Spanish-language, Bollywood-focused network ZEE Mundo has revamped its website to include a free video-on-demand (VOD) catalogue.
The new site is aimed at Bollywood fans across the US Hispanics and Latin America and is designed as a second-screen platform.
Rather than airing series and movies broadcast by the pay-TV channel, it will offer complementary content, including behind-the-scenes videos and exclusive Bollywood films, available to stream.
“We have noticed the need to create an appealing vehicle to increase awareness of Spanish-language Bollywood content,” said Javier Casella, GM, ZEEMundo.
For now, there are no plans to launch a free VOD app, however, although the web-based platform is responsive.
“The Bollywood industry and ZEE Mundo’s audience are growing by the day, captivating increasing numbers of viewers around the world. This trend, along with the constant social media activity with our fans, made us realise the need to create a second-screen window,” added Breatriz E Varona, digital media manager, ZEE Mundo.
